	Narcasse and Darun watch the battle with apprehension. They find themselves unable to trust the Shindran Prince, who manipulated them into helping him.
	Meanwhile, with the help of the Pars horsemen and their engines of war, the tide seems to be turning for Rajendra.
	Gadevy is maddened by the fact that Rajendra has taken allies, as the battle continues to rage on.
	But they are interrupted by The Shindran High Priest, who comes with news of the King's death. The last wishes of Karikara the second were that his successor will be chosen by a duel before the God.
	Rajendra comes to Arslan, to ask him if Darun could fight for him in the intended duel. It would be, as he puts it, a further way of linking Pars and Shindra.
	Arslan is dubious at first, he does not want to put Darun in unnecessary danger, but Narcasse explains to him that the concept of a sacred duel, which he found unfair in its assumption that the strongest is always right, is a good way to avoid the cost of an all-out war on a battlefield.
	Arslan having relented, Darun enters the Coliseum, only to find himself confronted to a creature visibly not human, a creature of incredible strength and endurance.
	Gadevy, watching the fight, entrusts his trusted Jaswant with a new mission, he was done spying for him in Rajendra's camp, now he was to kill Crown Prince Arslan while everyone was watching the combat.
	Darun seems more than matched by the powerful beast, who in one stroke of his heavy war axe cut his sword blade in two.
