About beanpole's Site
Hello! And welcome to my remodeled homepage. First I must explain my name. beanpole has been a nickname of mine for years now, so I wanted to use it for my homepage. But it was taken so I needed to add something to it. No, I'm not 12; that's just the number on one of my favorite shirts. You may notice the new design. I'm in a very black and white mood lately - simplicity, simplicity. Yes, that is one of my artworks on the front page. It's sort of a self-portrait from 1995.

beanpole12's Site Bio
So, you've come here, checked my pages, and wondered how did I do it all. Okay, so maybe you didn't, but I thought I'd tell you anyways.
I began in June of 1998 as beanpole12's Webpage. I had the same look for every page - just a plain colored background and the same buttons on the bottom of every page. I learned HTML from scratch, trying to do as much as I could with Geocities webpage builder. I started out with 6 pages - index, poetry, art, pictures, 80s and Def Leppard. I went from using their templates to creating my own pages in Notepad (my preferred choice now) when I moved to Fortune City. I basically used two sites for it all. Whenever I needed HTML help, I headed over to Create It 101 (both these sites are on my link page). And when I wanted something cool for my pages, I rushed over to Webweaver's.
And then the Yahoo-Geocities merger happened. I panicked, downloaded ALL my pages and went through the tedious search for a new homespot. When I found Fortune City, I began the long, hard build back up. I even found some new graphics and developed more experience using notepad and FTP (so Fortune City did have its bad point with down time). I believe I started here with a graphic theme for my pages. I found a Beanstalk theme at Frogfrau's - which I recently found out isn't around anymore!! Yes, yes, beanpole and beanstalk are a little different, but I couldn't resist. And it stayed that way for at least 2 years.
