Michelle Adriana Hart was born on the twenty-eighth of April, 1986, in Canberra, Australia. She was the only child of Mariah and Peter Hart. In 1991 she started kindergarten at Theodore Primary School, where I met her on the first day of school.

Michelle had straight blonde hair and blue eyes. She was a really bad liar because her eyes always showed what she was thinking...Her favourite sports were diving and dance, and her favourite colour was red. She loved Italian food and hated fish and most seafood and bananas. She was a really good artist and a better friend...She wanted to be a geneticist when she grew up.

At the start of 1998, after we'd finished primary school, Michelle and her parents moved to Townsville, Queensland. Even though she was so far away, we would talk at least once a week and write all the time, and we stayed best friends.

Early 2000, Michelle's parents had a trial separation, which was hard on her because she loved both of them. Later that year in about July, the divorce was finalised. Her father moved back to Canberra and Michelle and her mum stayed in the house in Townsville.

Michelle committed suicide on the third of March 2001. She was fourteen years old...

I know that there will never be anyone like her in my life again, and I will never ever stop missing her...her presence in my life has changed it forever, and I'll never forget the best friend anyone could ever find.

If you ever find someone like Michelle, who you know is your one and only true bestest friend, don't let them go. Don't let them walk out of your life, don't take them for granted. Remember every minute you spend with them...If someone tries to tell you something, really listen, because maybe the meaning isn't exactly clear. If someone comes to you with a problem, listen because maybe tomorrow they won't be there to talk to any more...
