On September 27th, after fierce fighting Taliban Islamic fundamentalist took control of the capital, Kabul. They have now declared Afghanistan a completely Islamic country. And they of course enforce strict laws wherever the size controls. Most of all the women suffer. They've been ordered to wear a full veil and cover their faces in public. A woman is not allowed outside her home without a man, there for widows and women with no brother of father are now dying of starvation because they can't leave their home for work of food shopping.
NASA scientists in the US have revealed evidence that a primitive life form might have existed more than three billion years ago on Mars. They have discovered possible fissile remains in a meteorite that arrived from the red planet 13,000 years ago and was found in Antarctica in 1984.
An estimated 400,000 Hutu refugees, who fled Rwanda in 1994, have left their camps in eastern Zaire and are heading home. The exodus came after extremist Hutu militiamen, who held them captives, were overrun in a surprise attack by Tutsi rebel forces, backed by the Rwandan government.
