What is the Rita Award?

Romance Writers of America says, "(The Rita Award is) the highest award of excellence in the romance genre. The RITA Award winners will be announced Saturday, August 2, 1997, at the 17th Annual RWA Conference in Orlando."

What happened to the Janet Dailey?

As we all know, Janet Dailey got caught plagiarizing Nora Roberts. The Janet Dailey Award is sponsored by Janet Dailey and her publisher; however, after the plagiarization, RWA no longer gives out the Janet Dailey. I really wish RWA finds a way to honor those authors who tackle difficult social issues.
