Intro:  1614, a small Spanish town, San Lucal de Barameda.  A group of samurai has travelled a year by boat to meet with the local noblety, Fuana's family, on their way to Madrid for trade or something.  Maria, a local girl, gets caught up in a feud between one of the samurai, Kojirou, and his brother, who is back in Japan.  She and Kojirou fall in love, but he has dark secrets in his family that might tear them apart.  Why did his brother want him killed?  Is Kojirou safe now?  From Spain, this story moves to Japan, where Kojirou searches for his brother to demand an answer.
