elinor peace bailey (all lower case, also known as "epb" in sewing circles) is one of America's greatest treasures. This book conveys some of her history, some of her philosophy, and dollmaking inspiration galore. This book includes the pattern for elinor's Modular Doll, which is worth the cover price alone.

This 7"x10" trade paperback is printed entirely on glossy paper, which means that the wealth of photographed dolls (most of them from the Modular Doll pattern, by various remarkable fabric artists) dazzle the reader with color and detail.

If you only buy a couple of books on dollmaking, this would have to be one of them. Books that inspire (rather than teach in a paint-by-the-numbers style) are few and far between. This one is an oasis.
