WESK CHP

interview

1. What do you write?

Wesk

2.Where you from?

Let's just say the bay area (California). If I told you where I lived, you'd have no clue where it is. It's near San Francisco, nuff said.

3.About how long have you been writing?

Five years, give or take a little.

4.Who were or still are your influences?

The people who enjoy graff influence me a lot. I don't really have one certain influnce, I just dig anyone down for graffiti.

5. Do you represent any crews?

Yeah, I'm down with CHP (Can't Hide Pride). we're just a couple-o-nuckelheads who enjoy painting people's personal property.

6.What do you feel about your local scene?

The bay area is my favorite scene. I'm glad to be here. There are always new writers coming in and other writers going. I feel the scene is always improving and will always get better, it's all a matter of time.

7. What do you feel about the scene as a whole?

I feel that it's a lot of fun right now. I also feel that in 20 years or so the definition of "graffiti" is going to be diferent then what it is today. Like how NYC writers painted trains and that was "graffiti" and today, people consider it to be diferent. 20 years from now, a newer generation will be saying, that wasn't graffiti.

8. Most importantly,(hehe) what do you feel about the Midwest scene?

It's dope!! I like the massive amount of freights coming out of the midwest. I was just in Phoenix chillen at the Nitty Gritty graff show with a lot of midwest writers, you midwesterners got some skills!!! People need to be on the watch out for Demo though man, he's gonna blow up (out here on the west coast) anyday now and people are gonna be like, damn, this guy is dope, you were right wesker, we shoulda listened to you.

9. Ever been caught?...if yes explain

Aaggghhhhhh!!! Yeah, I got caught by some hero (good citizen) when I first started piecing. I was chilling under a bridge painting and he spotted me and my friends. I was young and didn't know I should run so I stood there like a retard until the police showed up. I deserved to get caught that day. That was the only time charges have been filed, I've been questioned and stopped by police but never arrested.

10. Anyone you would like to thank?

Damn man, I have so many people I would like to thank. It would take up a lot of space, so how about.... Thank you to those of you who helped me out when I was still learning and tucked me under their wing to show me what graffiti was all about. They know who they are. Thank you for the interview.
