Linda Trombadore - Pears
Water Color Images Techniques
Great for stamping lampshades, paper bags, fabrics, walls, and most papers. This pear example was stamped on semi-gloss paper.
Best when used with solid carved images.
Simply "paint" your image with color markers. Try whatever markers you already have at home. I like Marvey Brush Markers. Some markers, even good ones, do not work well with this technique.
My best results have been with "The Rubber" (An upgraded version of Nasco's Safty-Kut) This carving material is smooth, easy to carve, and will "hold" inks well.
There will be at least 3 colors, one on top of the other. First cover your entire image with your lightest shade (base color). Now move to darker shades--using your darkest color last.
Clean markers immediately after each use by swiping them across a paper towel or a rag.
Your first stamping will print the darkest. I prefer the second stamping; as it tends to show the variations in color better. The pear design was inked ONCE with the markers. The primary image was stamped first; Secondly, the background images were stamped repeatedly without re-inking. You may need to huff on your stamp, in the same way you would huff on (clean) sunglasses--the moisture will rejuvenate fading colors.
