Carver: Margaret Tower

In 1827 Robert Brown observed under the microscope that pollen grains in still water seemed to be in constant motion. Einstein first explained "Brownian Movement" in 1905, using atomic theory, as the continual random motion of molecules (outer designs).
The center design also shows Brownian Movement. Here straight lines connect
successive positions of a single pollen grain suspended in water as observed
under a microscope at ten second intervals.

The carving was done on Nasco Safety kut. To achieve the look of water the designs were stamped on dark blue Canson paper with white Imprintz pigment ink.
The entire surface was embossed with thick, clear embossing powder.
