The Underground Lake
Rules and Regluations
Well, even in a labyrinth where night is blind, there are rules. Here they are, in short order, and more will be decided upon during the course of the story:
- All characters must either come from the Lloyd Webber musical, or they have to be approved by me. Once you have a character, original or not, you must send me an email stating your character's name, age, physical appearance, background, how they are involved with the Opra (ie, ballet dance, patron, manager).
- No copy-cat characters. It sounds like a silly rule, but there can't be three shy sopranoes waiting for the Phantom to take notice of them. Be original, branch out!
- Please do not involve the Phantom in posts without his prior consent. Along those lines, please do not send your characters past the second basement without the Phantom's consent. That is his domain, and his alone. The Phantom is mysterious, frightening...keep him that way, please.
- Always keep in mind the time period and your character's nature. No modern technology, although we'll let the Phantom get away with more than most. No chorus girls venturing down to the lower levels of the Opra...most of them were as timid as mice!
- Please, keep the amount of adult material posted to a bare minimum. Don't swear unless it is absolutely the only thing your character would do. And please, keep romantic encounters romantic, not vulgar. No sex, innudendoes, etc... Keep it clean, please!
- When you post, put your character's name in the subject heading, and something to grab the attention of whomever you want to read and respond to your post. For example:
Christine: rehearsing on stage attn: Meg
- If you have to make out of character remarks, please try to limit them to personal emails, or somehow mark them clearly in your message.
- Please do not take out of character information into character. We all know Christine is going to end up with Raoul. But she doesn't know that yet! We're telling a story here, keep that always in mind.
These rules are not to ruin anyone's day, or to take the fun out of this rpg. If you have a real problem with a rule, email meand we will discuss this. Similarly, if you have an idea for a rule, please do the same, and we will discuss it.
