There have been far too many incidents of brutality and sheer un-islamic barbarity in these four or so years of Taliban movement in Afghanistan. In one such incident, a woman was beaten half dead because she wanted to get medicine for her sick kid. Woman can not get out of their houses. Did they even care to ask why she came out of her house? No. Did they even care that except for that little kid she had nobody else to go and get her the medicine? No. Did they even care that the war had torn her family and she and the kid is the only remains of her family? No. All they saw was a woman breaking the law. They are the Judge, the Jury, and the Executioner. They executed their powers very well. This or any kind of battery of women is strictly denounced by the Islamic laws. Islam freed women from this type of battery and made women equal to men. Islam prohibited a man to hit a woman. By beating an innocent woman, what kind of Islam are these Taliban pursuing.

The public execution of a group of people who had shaved their beards, in such a manner as if they were murderers, has dimmed the last few rays of hope that these afghans had of a peaceful Afghanistan.

In addition to these type of savage executions, they are introducing laws that are virtually meaningless. Wearing a turban, no noisy shoes, no school for woman, flying a kite are just a few of these laws.

Even a kid who is just learning about Islam knows that a Muslim male must wear a hat. It doesn�t say anywhere in particular that they must wear a turban. Punishing innocent men, because they were wearing hats not turbans is as inane as it can get.

When Islam made man and woman equal, it made them equal in every aspect of life. Nowhere in Islam does it say that education is only for man. Nowhere in Islam does it say that woman are banned from getting education. Nevertheless, these Taliban again bring their own form of Islam by banning woman from obtaining education.

These are a few example of the �Taliban form of Islam� that Afghanistan is facing today. Every Muslim in the western countries today face the dilemma of being viewed as a terrorist. And the question is asked where the Muslims went wrong. When a westerner hears the word �Islam� or �Muslim� the first thing that comes to their mind is terrorist or extremist. Today, when these same westerners hear the news of Taliban and Afghanistan; they immediately view every Muslim as a terrorist or extremist.

Furthermore, when Taliban�s actions are closely viewed, nothing Islamic will be seen. They are using Islam as a shield to promote their barbaric ways of ruling the innocent people of Afghanistan.

In the past twenty years, Afghanistan has been torn into pieces by the ongoing war. Just when these innocent people think it is coming to an end, some absurd movement as such uprises and shatters the last brink of light in the eyes of dying Afghanistan. Will Afghanistan ever see the light again. The light of Freedom.
