BUTTON NECKLACE #1

photocopy of necklace

Supplies Needed:        Crochet Cotton Thread
                                            Crochet Hooks, size 8 and 3
                                            93 buttons
                                            1 shank button for fastener
                                            scissors

Crochet Directions:           The stitches used here are illustrated at the bottom of this page

NOTE: Using a larger hook for the first chain keeps the piece from curling. Before selecting buttons, make sure the holes are large enough to accomodate the insertion of the size 3 hook. For another method, all the buttons may be threaded onto the thread before starting to crochet. Pre-threading requires a random button pattern or you may have to figure out each button before you thread it.

ABBREVIATIONS:          ch = chain
                                                       sc = single crochet

After the last loop, make 1 sc in each of the remaining chain sts on row 1.

Break off the thread, leaving a tail long enough to tie a shank button onto. Tie the button on and trim the thread.
