Believe
it or not, especially those of you I knew in high school, I am a rather
big fan of this band, name and all. A side project of the Ministry
compound of good ol' Uncle Al Jourgenson, Revolting Cocks(or RevCo for
short...hrmm...) was the closest thing to a super group of industrial for
quite some time, featuring such legends as Chris Connely, Luc Van Acker,
Trent Reznor, etc., at one time or another. This album is the band's
only live album.
As I've already
mentioned, I like this band, that's why I got the cd. Unfortunately,
their music seems to lose a lot in translation to live performance, although
from what I've heard of their live performances, nobody cared what the
music sounded like. The music sounds washed out for most of the album,
and it seems slogged down in some sort of mire.
I do love the
songs, though, and that provides a redeeming quality to the disc for me.
If you've never even heard of the 'Cocks, get "BigSexyLand" before this
one. If you like RevCo already, I give it a 6, if you haven't I give
it a 3, its not the best album of theirs to start on.
