1812 - Church Established

(St. James Methodist Episcopal)

1845 - Black Membership

1864 - Served as hospital for Black union soldiers

1865 - Served as first public school for Blacks in the Tallahassee area

1870 - Joined the newly organized Colored Methodist Episcopal

1940 - Opened the first Bible vocational school for Black youth

1984 - Moved to present site

1995 - Burned mortgage on present site
