Sri-Lanka the country of my birth, the land of juicy coconuts, tasty tea and pretty women. 
You name it we have it. It is indeed a paradise on earth! You should see her palm fringed beaches and the exotic fauna and flora... She is Asia's hottest Tourist attraction! It is the most exiting place to live in.
The two main languages spoken here are Sinhala and Tamil. We have Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims and Burghers living in Sri Lanka. The Sinhalese are of Arian origin and majority of them are Bhudists. The Tamils who occupy the Northern and the Eastern provinces, are of Dravidian Origin and are mostly Hindus. The Burghers are Christians.
The staple food of Sri Lanka is rice which is grown in the country itself. Rice is eaten in many different forms.
However beautiful the island is, there is turmoil in her soil. There is an age old dispute between the Sinhalese and Tamils. It is now a country that is devastated by war. She is torn apart between the 
Lions and the 
Tigers.
Who is at fault and who is to blame is unidentifiable with each of the two groups blaming the other and is of no consequence while people starve, lose their loved ones and possessions and live without medicine. The day to day essentials without which we cannot survive is what they lack! A genocide!
It is just amazing how these two equally powerful ethnic groups continue to function. If only these two powerful powers (Sinhalese and the Tamils) would work towards a common goal, we would be a country that no one can find fault with. We saw a glimpse of their combined effort at cricket which brought us to the top of the world!
