Concept
users are presented with a variety of images, video clips, and or audio
clips and asked to identify (from multiple choices) who or what the audio
or image is or who said it etc. All of the questions are based (sometimes
loosley) on genetics in popular culture.
Physical interface
The physical interface will be a car wreck with a bench seat and a
projector mounted in the front of the car projecting onto a drive in screen
painted on one of the flats. The car will have a steering wheel, functioning
horn, brake and accelerator pedals and gear shifter (auto).
Interaction
The interaction will be by way of the car controls. The intro screen
will say something like "POP QUIZ Press the accelerator to start". When
the accelerator is pressed a typical old time drive in set of slides come
up (complete with scratches, faded colours etc). The slides have the multiple
choice questions on them and the user chooses the answers by using the
car controls. eg.
At the end of their turn the user is told to press the brake peddal
to find out their score and/or start again. they can do this at any time
and the questions do not reset to question #1, they continue from where
they left off when the next person presses the accelerator. The score is
simply how many questions the user answered correctly out of how many they
attempted.
Information provided by exhibit
The exhibit showes how influential the effects of genetics and genetic
engineering are on popular culture.
