Art is probably the one thing I am most passionate about. I love to look and read about it. It is also the single most thing that frustrates me the most. I guess I was to much of a perfectionist to be able to create the type of art that I wanted to, though I have won several awards in college as well as way back in high school. The one thing I am proud of in my life of art is a wall that my high school classmates and I did on a highway underpass for the city of Louisville. Today it still stands (not unmarked unfortunately).
As you can tell one of my favorite artists is M.C. Escher. I first started liking him back when my aunt and uncle (Jan and Gary)gave me his book of work. The thought and imagination that must have gone into his works is amazing. His perspective pieces (Hand with Reflecting Sphere, Belvedere,
Ascending and Descending, etc...) are amazing feats in my opinion. Reflecting sphere is definitely my favorite. The great thing about it is that he was left handed, and he is holding the sphere with his left hand. An amazing memory he must have.
Other favorite artists include Picasso, Chagall, Van Gogh, and Dali.
