WHAT ARE COLOR GUIDES?
As you all may know, after the story was written, then came the pencil art, the inker was up next along with the letterer. At this point the art work was shrunk down & sent to the Colorist. During the 70's & 80's this ment the Colorist hand colored each & every art page.

A Color guide is an actual pieces of a comic books art production, but 20 years ago, they were given little respect as art. Consequently, they often have staples and creases and artist's errors but they are certainly authentic.

Through out the 70's & 80's, Marvel Comics used a nice photo quality paper for their color guides, while DC Comics during this period used a standard white paper for their color guides.
