God, Love Our Little Child

Deep down inside a tiny child is crying, it is misused and afraid

It was never given the devotion it needed to grow, love being something that was taken away

Not respected, the child is ridiculed for reacting the only way it knew how

Blamed for events that were beyond its' control, the child is still not forgiven

It weeps, it feels alone, needing nurturing and finding none

God, love the little child within us, it is such an eminent part of what we are

He feels sadness for the child, but can do nothing until we surrender our will

Then there will come a day when we forgive, we will nourish the little ones inside us

Through God's love we learn to love ourselves, we embrace our inner child

The child is given what was missing in our youth

We grow inside and take our place among gods chosen

We stand in His grace, and perceive His glory
