Exposure
Out of the shell, soft meat inside
Feeling exposed, want to crawl back and hide
So vulnerable, in a malleable state
Uncomfortable with the allotted fate
Trying not to crawl back, into the shell
Lest the vitals not grow, and existence be hell
A struggle, keeping open and ready
Cannot turn back, remain constantly steady
Spent to long behind the thick walls
Never hearing, when destiny calls
Comfortable in the protection, remaining secure
Being unveiled and revealed, unable to endure
Outside the environment so immense, causing fear
Inside where it is safe, all is near
With no room to grow, feeling comfortably numb
In a protective coating, blind, deaf and dumb
No strength to remain free, staying hidden
Cannot express emotions when bidden
Seek help, there is one who patiently waits
Time to stop hiding, to open the gates
God will aid, he will be a guide
He will tend to the ills, keep the doors open wide
There is growth, space provided, feeling so free
Becoming much stronger, and able to see
The path is ahead, the journey only begun
Hope there is now,
in He light of the son
