I had been trapped
For such a very long time
Feeling freedom like others
Would never be mine
 
My wings weakened 
From seldom use
Could be compared
To a kind of abuse
 
The door had started 
To open finally
So I planned my escape
To set myself free
 
But as I spread 
My wings to take flight
It slammed shut again
Making worse my plight
 
Again the engulfing feeling
Of entrapment is mine
I shall never feel freedom
Caged forever in time
