In my darkest thoughts,
I cannot see clear,
My heart is heavy left to rot,
and I cannot feel you near.

But thru a darkened mist,
tears burn, a stinging light,
I fight my way with fists,
to get thru this dreadful plight,

I struggle through the darkest night,
I want to scream so loud,
as the light grows big and wide,
every word choking me like a shroud.

The bridge has been broken,
but I know that I can swim,
to get to my desired token,
and your heart back I will win.

So as I travel thru this stage,
reach for my hand and I reach for yours,
to bring me from the waters rage,
not to let my heart sink down to the floor.

And when I get to the other side,
neither of us alone,
take each day with even stride,
to be together again as one!
