Even with all the pain and heartache
You have put me through
I really believed that
I was still in love with you

But now I realize
You were a habit I had to break
For my own sanity
A new life I had to make

If you could have trusted me
Just a little more
We could have weathered anything
That life had in store

But you turned your back on me
And went your separate way
I am making it without you
And this is all I can say

As I start a new life alone
The memories will linger on
The pain has finally eased
And has made me strong

I no longer have the habit
Of needing you anymore
I can finally proceed
And close the past’s door
