Hook or bait
trick or test
or is it simply that fate
is never content to rest
perverse
in irony
using the very reverse
to explain our destiny
I have you
you have me
trying on the other shoe
to feel our own humanity
reasonable
with sense
understanding made able
by the discarded defense
We hear
with compassion
denied to others too near
mutual invaluable lesson
of insight
since
it is easier to see the light
from the safety of distance
We dare
to be frank
vulnerable still but fair
lives touching gently and
what next
no matter
for once over the obsess
we will both be left better!
