That moment in April
I knew about you
But I had waited so long
I thought it couldn’t be true

My prayers had been answered
As the days passed
There was going to be
A new little one at last

We had happily adopted your sister
A few years before
While we waited for the stork
To come to our door

All the feelings I was having
Were all so new
I missed her first year
So I was feeling them for two

Then the day finally came
My heart cried with joy
When they finally said
“You have a healthy baby boy”

The nurses were surprised
By your dimpled chin
“He was kissed by an angel”
They said with a grin

During your first year
I was doubly blessed
Everything you learned
Showed me what I had missed

At only two weeks
It was a joy to see
Your laughing little grin
On such a happy baby

That was so long ago
But memories are here to stay
Of a laughing little boy
That always brightened my days

Now a sense of humor, intelligence
And a mind of your own
A little boy has been replaced
By a man now grown

But in my heart
I will always feel blessed
By my dimpled chin boy
That the angels kissed
