Driving home from a hard days work,
I said some things, I was a jerk.
I've said them to one I call friend,
Should I stop and make amends?
Red light ... green light ... and in-between,
Yellow is the color seen.
Stop ... go ... I don't know,
I wish I had the answer though.

His house is up the way a spell,
But not enough that I should dwell.
On actions that I now regret,
Does he need time lest he forget?
Red light ... green light ... and in-between,
Yellow is the color seen.
Stop, go, I don't know,
I wish I had the answer though.

His house is just around the bend,
I think I'll stop to see a friend.
For many years we've stuck together,
And other storms we've learned to weather.
Red light ... green light ... and in-between,
There is no other color seen.
Stop ... go ... I now know,
Will he accept my offering though?
