After our conversation today
I'm a bit troubled
I have to say
You say you've been hurt
too many times
You're closing off
I can see the signs
Please my friend
don't take that road
There's a fog ahead
and the air turns cold
Smooth the path
may seem from here
But just ahead
lay frozen tears
and just beyond that
emotions run dry
leaving a rancid
foreboding sky
It's void of sun
It won't light your way
Gloom and darkness
will fill your day
A little further up
around the bend
loneliness waits you
at the end
Please don't take that road
my friend
