-Meeting the Future-
I wake up on a day redundant
Not thinking of anything strange
To happen to me.
As I walk down the street
I see a fellow unknown
Someone I’ve never seen.
It’s a mystery to me.
Such a small town
Many people passing by
And I notice him
One and only out of all
The day goes on
And I sit to ponder on the day
And the man who caused
Thoughts of mysterious romance
Makes another appearance
I settle for two sightings
The wonder of his importance
Is questioned the first time.
Is his existence something
For the best of my future?
I permanently ask myself now
For he could have been my future
My friend to hold my hand
My lover to hold my heart
My soul mate to cherish forever.
The father of my children
The keeper of my heart
The one person I didn’t approach
The meeting didn’t exist
Yet it came to a close
So early when the future
Was there twice on my day
I let it all slip away.
