-Thinking-
I think forever
Of what everyone else thinks
My brain is extensive
Like a map fresh and unused
Territories newly found.
To find myself
Thinking of the next person’s thoughts
Is only provoking more questions
And less answers.
If only I could figure out
What was on the mind
Of my best friend
Who is miles away
Maybe I could realize
Whether I need to move on or just stay.
And the sincerity of the love
That I receive through
Both men in my life
Can only leave me pondering
On my future with
Either one of them
If I could read their minds
I could figure out which one
Is worth keeping.
Playing God is an impossibility
And so I must remain
In an unending suspense
A thrill ride for my heart
I still remain pondering
Thinking of our loves
The people who will
Be affected by each other’s decisions and actions
All could be prevented
If we could read the minds
Of the millions
With unclear motives.
Motives we want to keep private
So the mysteries of our minds
Remain forever.
