Well... hello there, and welcome to my poem of the week.

This week it is : Misery and Me..

It was written 17th September 1997, and is about the best description of how i depict life
that i can imagine... i certainly couldn't explain in normal conversation. Anyway... if you would
like to see your poetry in my Poem of the Week section... then please send it too me.

M I S E R Y - A N D - M E .

Look into my weary eyes... and tell me what you see.
Are they green? Or are they blue? Tell me. what colour do they seem to you?
Perhaps they could be grey, from the hurt i always feel.
Desperate deep inside from all the pain i have to hide.

Look at all the things you see...
Written over me.
You can read me like a book, so look...
The things you see, make misery...
Make me.

Look upon my face, do you see the lines of hate?
They were bought to me by misery, it's just another on the slate!
Once i felt a smile. But i fear it came too late.
Please show me to my resting place, for with death i have a date.

Look at all the things you see...
Maybe what i could of been.
You can read me like a book, so look...
The things you see, make misery... Make me.

Look past all the shadows, of a life i spent alone.
Picture me and memorize, all the cruelty kept behind these eyes.
Break my bone with stick and stone, for no matter what they do,
Thou shall not fall, nor will thee cry. It's time for me to say goodbye.

Look at all the things you see...
The pain and hurt that just won't bleed.
You can see the hope they took, so look...
The things you see, make misery... Make me.

Look into the future, to a place without my heart.
The heart that stood the heartache, read upon it's card.
My time is up, i had my turn. It's time to pass on by.
I spent my life of misery, I spent my tears and cried.

Look at all the things you see...
Written over me.
You can read me like a book, so look...
The things you see, make misery...
Make me.

A short disclaimer :
It has been known for people to take offense to my poetry...
And think i'm a twisted black individual... who is arrogant and distasteful...
This is not true (well, for the most part!) and if you do find anything i write offensive,
please, please don't write to me and tell me, or complain.
As a poet, i have poetic licence! :) ... i'll write what i want,
and if you don't like it... Don't read it!!! :)
