Highway Of Life We are travelling along together Over the highway of life. To some, the trip is easy and pleasing, To others it is struggle and strife. We all start on our journey The moment we are born. Some take the time to enjoy every day, For some the journey is forlorn. The highway goes over the horizon With many a twist and turn. There are side roads, shady and tempting, For those who like adventure, yearn. Some have time for happiness And give help to a faultering friend. They speak kindly to children and older folks, Never counting the hours they spend. Others are fired up with ambition, And rush along at a terrible speed. Gathering the riches and power, everywhere Consumed by a powerful greed. All along the highway are sign posts, Each has a name carved in stone. When we see our name, and enter the gate We all have to walk alone. written by Deborah Dedicated to all my friends |
