A haiku is a short Japanese poem. They are traditionally about nature. However, haikus can have any subject. Each haiku is three lines long. The first line has five syllables, the second seven, the third five. There is usually no rhyming in haikus.
This is a page that has less than twenty haikus, but they are good to look at to get an idea of what kind of haikus other people write. Also, you can send in your haikus with your name and David will probably post them. I have just done this, so I don't know if mine will be posted yet.
