My Limericks

Inspired by the book mentioned in my Limericks Information section, I decide to try to write my own limericks. Here are the ones I have written so far.

There was a young girl called Lynette
Who put off work till the last minute
"I procrastinate," said she
"but couldn't you be,
a little more considerate!"

There was an old man from Gazoop
Who found not one- two flies in his soup
When to a waiter he said
"There's flies and they're dead!"
The waiter said "We have live ones, too."

There was a substitute quite old
Who was to give a test, he was told
Of embarrasement he died
When to give the wrong test he tried
That sub was ne'er again as bold.

There was a girl who fencing loved
She held her foil with a hand gloved
But when her helmet fogged
She was rather down bogged
Because she couldn't see, and got shoved.

There once was a man of Aruba
Who moved to where people say "dooba"
But all there must play
An instrument each day
So he learned to play the tuba.

There was a man who spoke Spanish
But his manner of speaking was clam-ish
When he said, ``Hola, papa!''
Instead of papá
Him to a far place they did banish.
