I reached into the pumpkin...

I reached into the pumpkin
And pulled out a goopy mess
Of all Hall'ween activities
I think pumpkin carving's best

My brother didn't want to
Too squeamish of pulp was he
And my mother had other
Place she needed to be

So by myself I carved it
Until I had to go
To a harvest carnival
I really had to show

When I got home I found
That my mother as I did ask
Had used a knife to carve the
Pumpkin finishing the task

So for the whole of that night
And for the rest of that day
Our pumpkin did glow friendly
Lighting to our house the way.
