What's
Left Behind
I
wish the pain that envelopes me would subside.
The
torment and ache rushes through me constantly,
like
waters of a tide claiming her sandy shore.
Because
of you.
Because
of me.
Whatever
is left,
Is
left for scavengers,
Because
you have all the rest.
I
wish that I couldn't see a part of you
in
everything that's around me.
In
everything that I do.
And
in everything that touches my spirit.
That's
how whole my love was
and
still is.
Time
won't heal me,
Time
won't recover the loss or the emptiness.
The
only thing time will do,
is
permit me to remember every
little
thing about us,
and
you.
Being
without you seems to be my destiny.
Everything
is gone.
And
all that's left is a dark, lonely,
and
very frightening place.
~
And
that's because of you.
