1. ESTABLISHMENT

Spatial Solutions Incorporated Town and Regional Planners/ Urban Environmentalists was established in June 1997 (Company Reg Nr 97 08626/21) with its main objective to deliver advice on issues relating to the sustainable development of the urban and rural environment and communities. The company is supported by LMV Inc, Civil and Structural Engineers and Town and Regional Planners , with its headoffice in Kroonstad.

2. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

To deliver an outstanding professional service to our clients, which underscores the following principles:

  • to maintain an appropriate professional awareness of contemporary planning philosophy and techniques (including amongst many others the concept of sustainable development)
  • to understand the interaction between the different environments - cultural and physical - and its impact on each other
  • to ensure that planning is sensitive to the environment
  • to ascertain the appropriate factual situation, and maintain unbiased and objective judgement that is solely based on true professional belief
  • to respect a clients right to confidentiality
  • to provide services tailored to the client's specific needs, whether those needs relate to small or large projects
  • to ensure that accurate information is available for meaningful public input and participation
  • To advise our clients and coordinate inputs of other/ related professions as necessary 3. PROFESSIONAL CREDIBILITY

    Our firm is registered with the Association of Consulting Town and Regional Planners and all our shareholders are professionally registered at a Statutory Council. This ensures that we only deliver professional advice and that we accept our responsibilities and liabilities with each commission. It is also important that we contribute to the enhancement of our different professions and therefore we deem it fit that our shareholders and employees affiliate with a recognised professional institute or association.

  • Township Establishment of Namibia, an extension of Mangaung (949 erven).
  • Township Establishment of Chris Hani Park, three extensions of Mangaung (3079 erven).
  • Incremental Development Strategy for the South Eastern Segment of Bloemfontein (in Consortium with Urban Dynamics Inc).
  • Upgrading of 15 informal areas in Mangaung for the NER Project (� 2000 erven) within a period of six months.
  • Project managers for the Consortium of Town and Regional Planning Consultants for the NER Project.

    Spatial Solutions Inc was subcontracted by LMV Inc to manage and execute the abovementioned projects on their behalf for the client, the Bloemfontein Transitional Local Council.

    6. TECHNICAL EQUIPTMENT

    Our office is fitted with new state-of-the-art technical equipment to assist us in delivering a professional service to our clients. This includes inter alia 2 Pentium workstations with ReGIS as our main Computer Aided Design/ Geographical Information System software accessory. We also have a Hewlett-Packard Designjet (A0) Colour Plotter and a laser printer (A4) to assist with the production of AO colour maps, presentations and documents. We also carry the normal office equipment and are connected to the Internet to ease the exchange of digital information in the shortest possible time. It is also used as a research tool.

    7. SHAREHOLDING

    Our firm has two shareholders, namely Erika Jacobs and LMV Incorporated. The shareholding is divided into the ratio 80/20. LMV Incorporated has 5 Directors, namely Messrs C H Combrinck, J Viviers, S J Boshoff, P G Vivier and T B Jordaan, of which the first two shareholders are also Directors of Spatial Solutions Inc.

    We are a dynamic company with our main objective to deliver an unsurpassed professional service towards the development and conservation of the built and the natural environment.
