Nicholas

A Kabbalistic Synopsis

(Nun, Yod, Kaph, Aleph, Lamed, Ayn, Samech)

If you go out for a night on the town with Nicholas, you shouldn't expect to be back until morning! In fact, you may be gone for quite a number of days, as Nicholas is something of a wild individual. Nicholas will never descend into a wholly dissolute lifestyle, though. He may know better than most how to have an outrageously good time, but he also intends to do well for himself careerwise, and won't let his taste for pleasure get in his way. Nicholas rarely relaxes in any real sense. He is always doing something, and his immense energy is shown by the letters Yod and Lamed in his name. However active and hedonistic he may be, Nicholas always has time for others. His name's value reduces to twelve, which is the number of the Hanged Man in the tarot, and indicates a person who is willing to sacrifice his own needs for others.

The Runic Interpretation

(Sowelu, Ansuz, Laguz, Othila, Hagalaz, Kano, Isa, Nauthiz)

With the benefit of Sowelu in his name representing wholeness, Nicholas will find satisfaction and happiness in life. The runes can tell him what it takes to get there. Nicholas can incorporate solitude from Isa, intuition from Ansuz, flexibility from Laguz, and release from Othila. Once Nicholas has let go of anger and hurt, he can build a solid life. The Hagalaz rune of disruption, combined with Nauthiz for constraint, afford Nicholas many wake-up calls along the way. Once he comes into his own, Nicholas could do well in the performing arts, or business.

The Numerological Interpretation

(NV=1, CV=2, VV=8, FL=5)

Nicholas likes challenges-the bigger, the better. He always has a goal in mind and structures his life accordingly. Although Nicholas needs to make it on his own, he is not a loner. Intimate relationships are very important to him, both in terms of his emotional needs as well as for another, more important reason. It will be through his relationships that Nicholas learns how to share himself and begin to merge more consciously into the larger collective called "life".
