Once upon a time, in the Juuban section of Tokyo, there was a street corner. It was a perfectly ordinary street corner, with a mailbox, a street lamp, and a jewelry store called OSA-P. The street corner had been in existence for many years, and despite the fact that it stood in the city of Tokyo, which was far from quiet, nothing unusual had ever happened there.
Then one day a monster took over the jewelry store, and began to control its customers. That marked the first appearance in Tokyo of Sailor Moon. She defeated the monster, and things went back to normal. Or so it seemed.
Some time later, small plants began to sprout in the neighborhood. Many of them grew at that very corner, and attacked pedestrians as they travelled down the street. They had been sent by two aliens, Ail and Ann, who needed the energy of humans to feed their Doom Tree. Unfortunately for them, the plants were eliminated by Sailor Moon and her friends. Again, things went back to normal. Supposedly.
During a time of great trouble for the area, a young woman was attacked by Hawks Eye, Fish Eye and Tigers Eye as she stopped at the corner, waiting for the light to change. They were using their mirror to look inside her for Pegasus, when Sailor Moon once again arrived to stop them. Then they all left, leaving the corner to its peaceful existence.
She and her friends had overlooked one important fact. So many magical events had occurred on that one street corner that the magic had begun to soak into the very fabric of the corner. This caused something quite unexpected. The street lamp and the mailbox were becoming sentient. Then another magical event occurred.
Usagi and Chibi-Usa were running down the street, arguing about what type of ice cream they would have. A youma appeared in front of them. Usagi pushed Chibi-Usa behind her and pulled her communicator out of her pocket, intending to call her friends. The youma knocked it out of her grip, and it skidded down the sidewalk into a storm drain. Then the youma reached out with one arm and struck Usagi so hard that she bounced off the plate glass window of the jewelry store and came down stunned.
Chibi-Usa began to transform, but the youma knocked her flat.
"You cannot escape me. I know who you are, and you must die."
Usagi sat helplessly, watching the youma approach. Then the unexpected happened.
"I HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS!"
The youma turned to find out the source of the voice. The street lamp pulled itself out of the sidewalk, and began to rotate. Within seconds, it had transformed into a fifteen foot high woman. She was painfully thin, and wore a fuku similar to Sailor Moon's.
"I am the Sailor of Light! You cannot escape me!"
The youma began to giggle. That gave Sailor Light enough time to pound it into the sidewalk. It tried to get out of the hole, but was distracted by yet another strange voice, once never heard before on the planet.
"Don't bother, monster. Die."
The mailbox pulled its four legs from the pavement and rushed forward, opening its lid as it ran. Letters flew from its innards, their sharp edges slicing the youma into tiny bits. In seconds it was gone.
Usagi forced herself to her feet and picked up her daughter.
"I don't know how to thank you."
Sailor Light turned around, a glow in her eyes.
"We're not finished yet."
Within seconds, Sailor Light and her friend Sailor Missive had squashed Usagi and Chibi-Usa so flat that it would be necessary to use their dental records to identify them. Then they sighed, and returned to their original positions on the corner. The plaintive voice of the street lamp was the last thing to be heard as it assumed its original form.
"Perhaps now we can get some peace and quiet."
