None of the series in this story belong to us. Were just sort of borrowing the characters for a little while.

"I hope this doesnt take long, Im going to miss my favorite soap opera!" moaned Ayeka.

"Oh be quiet, Princess!" Ryoko put her hands on her hips and glared at the other girl. "If Washu called us together, there has to be an important reason."

"Miyah!" agreed Ryo-Oh-Ki.

"But where IS she?" asked Sasami. "I need to get back to the kitchen or dinner will be late."

Just then, the door to Washus lab sprang open and Washu walked out followed by Tenchi, who was struggling to carry a large object covered with a sheet.

"Sorry to keep you waiting," she apologized, "but moving my little surprise here proved to be a little bit harder than I had expected."

Tenchi lowered the item to the table in the center of the living room. "Next time you invent a surprise, Washu-chan, try to invent a lighter one. Okay?"

"Sure, sure, whatever. Anyway, thank you all for coming! Washu-chan, the galaxys number one super genius, has--"

Ryoko interrupted. "Get on with it, will you? I want to get back to my space drama!"

"Wait a second," yelled Ayeka. "Its MY turn to have the TV, and its time for my favorite soap!"

Washu laughed "It seems that my invention has come just in time to resolve this situation. Behold!" Washu whipped the sheet off her invention, and threw it across the room. Everyone stared at what looked to be a duplicate of the Masaki family television set.

"A second TV? Big deal. But thanks, anyway, Washu," said Ryoko, quickly moving towards the remote control.

Washu grabbed the remote. "Hey, hey, if it was just a second TV, I wouldnt have come in with all this fanfare! Youre about as thick as Mihoshi. Speaking of Mihoshi, where is she?"

"I dont know," replied Sasami. "I sent her out to the garden to pick some vegetables for dinner."

"Ah, never mind," said Washu. "Anyway, this is NOT a TV. This is an entertainment fusion terminal!"

"Entertainment fusion terminal?" asked Tenchi nervously. "Fusion as in nuclear?"

"No, no, not at all. Its not going to blow a giant hole in the countryside. Now why dont you tell me what you want to watch if this were just an ordinary TV."

"Pirate Marauders from Pluto!" "Romance at The Bottom of the Sea!" cried Ryoko and Ayeka. Then they turned and began screaming at one another. While they fought, Sasami tugged on Washus sleeve.

"Cooking With Yogurt is going on right now. Could we watch that?"

"All right then," yelled Washu, holding the remote up in the air and leveling it at the TV. With a couple of quick button presses, the television sprang to life and a picture came in.

Everyones jaws dropped as they saw what was on the screen. A space pirate wearing a diving mask was battling with a giant squid underwater which seemed to be clutching some sort of treasure in one tentacle, a handsome but apparently almost asphyxiated hunk in another, and a large container of yogurt in a third.

"Isnt this great?" asked Washu, while putting down the remote.

Ryoko was mesmerized by the program. "Go get him! Defeat that eight-armed menace!"

"Oh, hes SO handsome, even if hes turning blue!" cried Ayeka. "Please dont let him drown!"

"Now is that a cup or a pint of yogurt?" asked Sasami, who was jotting down notes.

Everyone was so intent on the screen that they didnt notice Mihoshi enter the room. She walked up behind everyone, took a look at the unit and noticed the remote.

"What else is on?" she asked, pressing buttons randomly.

"Dont TOUCH that!" yelled Washu, diving in vain for the remote.

The screen fuzzed out, then solidified once more. There was now a red-haired girl, a small black pig and a panda in the scene. The panda ate the yogurt while the red-haired girl started punching the octopus in the face. The pig, meanwhile, headed off in a completely random direction.

"This is boring!" said Mihoshi, holding the remote too high for Washu to grab while she pushed more buttons. "What else is on?"

The picture fuzzed, then solidified again. A giant purple mecha appeared behind the octopus, while the space pirate found a small yellow rodent with red cheeks attached to its face. A red-haired swordsman with a cross-shaped scar on his check started hacking away at one of the octopus tentacles with his sword, while the mecha attacked it from behind. "I will punish you in the name of the blub blub blub" came from a girl with long blonde hair as she floated by.

Washu knocked the remote out of Mihoshis hands and it hit the floor, breaking into a million pieces.

"Its out of control!" yelled Washu.

The scene shifted again. Suddenly the octopus was flopping around in front of the Tokyo Tower. Three young girls looked down from the observation deck at the scene below, shrugged their shoulders, and looked the other way.

"Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!" The attention of everyone on the ground was riveted on a scantily-clad, very well-endowed woman, who was trying to pry the hunk out of the tentacle. "Look what I found!"

Unable to free him, she resorted to magic. "Freeze arrow!"

The side of the entertainment fusion terminal suddenly froze over. Ryo-Oh-Ki miyahed in alarm, then dove under the couch.

"Washu-chan, its going to explode!" cried Sasami. "Do something!"

"Didnt I already say its not going to explode? I built a fail-safe into this," said Washu. She looked down, rummaged in the pocket of her lab coat, and pulled out a remote with a huge red button. She looked around, but everyone had already taken refuge behind various pieces of furniture.

"Cowards," she muttered, and turned back toward the terminal. Washus face whitened for a moment as she heard the speech coming out of it."

"...Those who oppose us shall be destroyed by the power you and I possess..."

Washu quickly hit the red button, then tapped frantically on the other keys of the remote. The terminal screen went dark.

Tenchi peeked out from behind a chair. "Is it safe to come out now?"

Washu smirked. "Of course its safe! It was never dangerous to begin with. I just wasnt fast enough to take care of the residual energy. I wasnt able to re-direct it away to somewhere where it would be totally harmless."

"So it was dangerous?" asked Ryoko.

"I wanted to program it to send the energy to a place where it wouldnt do any harm, but there wasnt enough time. I had to push the button and hope for the best."

Somewhere on an alternate Earth, the FFML server exploded, causing over two thousand fanfic writers and readers to sit despairingly in front of their computers, running their email programs over and over, waiting for messages that were not coming.
