Black Rose

BLACK ROSE
Songfic by June "KaraOhki" Geraci

------------------

Kodachi Kuno stands on the roof of the Tendo home.
She's not in her usual leotard, but is dressed for traveling.
She closes her eyes, and remembers how she met Ranma.

***************

"Oh I know it all looks good
When you're starting out
You can see where your heart should go"

***************

Kodachi falls from the roof of the Tendo home, but
Ranma scoops her up. The first thing she sees are his
eyes, wide with concern, and she is lost.

***************

"But somehow every time
You lose at love again
The distance between you grows
I can see you carry a black rose"

***************

Kodachi is about to kiss the paralyzed Ranma when
Akane arrives on the roof to interfere. She leaves, but
has no intention of giving up.

***************

"Ah, those silver moonbeams
Always find you out
Like a shining lover
It's as cold as ice
And as dark as your deepest dream
Don't look over your shoulder
I see you carry a black rose"

***************

Kodachi couldn't sleep tht night, haunted
by the vision of her new love, with the moonlight
shining on his hair and reflected in his eyes. She'd
been looking for so long for someone to love.

***************

"People tell you, fade away.
You might as well fade away.
Don't you know, the future is your fire anyway
You might as well fade. . .
Fade away"

***************

Kodachi sinks down onto the dojo roof, and
draws her knees up to her chin. The memories are
painful, for no matter how hard she tried, or what she
did, Ranma's answer was always the same: Go away.

***************

"But what happens is . . .
Your mouth gets dry
And you dream a little too much
And baby starts to tremble
She says "forever"
And you stir in your sleep
Doesn't it show?
Doesn't she know by now? . . .
You carry a black rose"

***************

A breeze from a window that should not be open wakes
Ranma. He shivers, and pulls the blankets closer around
himself and Akane. It's then that he sees the black rose,
and the note, which contains only one word.
