I had seen Ms. McLarnon's absolutely beautiful image on a somewhat random surf of Bryce links spit out by Alta Vista. I was very taken with this picture in particular, but bonehead that I am, I did not bookmark the site. As I began to learn how to use Bryce, I thought it would be a good challenge to try to do something similar - but I worked entirely from memory, and was not trying to do anything like an exact copy.
I honestly did not realize just how similar my end result was until a viewer here at the Gallery emailed me to ask if indeed Ms. McLarnon's work was my inspiration. Thankfully, he provided a link to Ms. McLarnon's site. I have to admit I felt like a bottom feeding plagiarist when I finally took another look at her image. I did not mean to so closely duplicate so many elements of her work.
My point is this - if you like this image, do yourself a HUGE favor and go check out Kelly McLarnon's gallery of images. She has more artistic ability in her little finger than I do in my big, densely boned head.
