Biblical reference to angels is sparse, as is reference in the Koran. In the sixth century, a man named Pseudo-Dionysius established the hierarchy of angels from seraphim at the top to archangels and angels at the bottom. Popular beliefs about angels stem from his writings and nobody knows how or where he got his information.

Wherever angels come from, there can be little doubt that something strange is happening around the world. More and more people are reporting angelic activity, from simple visitations to actual interventions. The phenomena definitely falls under the grace of faith. People with little faith are not likely to see angels or to feel divinity in their lives.
