My Side Trip to Montreal
This
the view entering Montreal. Gee, I wish I had another set of hands to hold
either the camera or the steering wheel!!
The
Montreal Skyline is absolutely magnificent. It almost reminds me of the New York
skyline. Except, in New York there is no mountain seen behind the city.
The
cathedral in Old Towne Montreal. I understand tourist come from all over
the world to this cathedral to pray.
More
of the cathedral.
And
more. There is a student group on the steps. What a field trip.
The
Virgin Mary in front of the cathedral welcoming all visitors.
One
of the more impressive things I found in Montreal is the mixing of the old and
the new as seen here in the architecture of these two buildings on the edge of
Old Towne.
As
you turn the corner from the previous picture you see this wonderful street
lined with restaurants leading to the harbor.
The
sun sets behind the awesome skyscrapers of Montreal. If you look closely
you can see the mountains just behind downtown.
This
Holiday Inn is just on the edge of China Town. Hence, the oriental architecture
on the towers.
Here
I just wanted to capture the fact that every street sign is in French.
This
is some of that great gothic architecture!
And
some more.
I
wanted to give solid proof that I was in Montreal. This building, which is
also an overpass, is apparently that which houses city government.
The
entrance to China Town.
