Dear Mr Ron Puyundatu
Invitation to put your short films on filmworks.com.sg
I am the editor of filmworks.com.sg, an Internet portal that has over 50 original short films, from the critically acclaimed to student projects, with the plan to grow to 500 before the year is out.
Filmworks.com.sg is a virtual forum for short-format filmmakers, critics and viewers from anywhere in the world to watch and discuss things from the ridiculous to the sublime. Using broadband technology, the portal enables quick access and downloading of short films, therefore enhancing viewer?s enjoyment.
On behalf of my company, MediaManager Pte Ltd, which owns and runs the portal in Singapore, I would like to invite you to post your short film, Jakarta Stock Shots: No.7, and other films you have made, on filmworks.com.sg. It will be another venue for you to show your work at no charge to you, but which now reaches the Singapore, Indonesian and American audience through filmworks.com.sg and our mirror site, US@home. As broadband network becomes more readily available and cheaper, Internet users all over the world will soon be able to access and enjoy your short films on filmworks.com.sg.
MediaManager will bear the cost of digitising the short films provided by you and putting them on our broadband portal. You, on the other hand, will give us the permission to screen the films.
S$50,000 awards for top five films
As a recognition of their distinctive work and an encouragement to quality film production, at the end of every year, five films will be selected based on the democracy of the Internet.
That is, the production teams of the five films with the highest number of viewings in an average month and ratings by filmworks.com.sg viewers will be awarded S$10,000 each.
The next five most-watched films will receive prizes from our sponsors ranging from a DV camera to air tickets to the US.
In a few weeks? time, you will be able to visit our website filmworks.com.sg, when it goes live, for a taste of our offer. If you have not got broadband network, you can still access our home page though you will not be able to watch the films.
We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to widen the exposure of your work, as we look forward to screening your talent.
Please write to me at e-mail: [email protected] or at telephone: (65) 256 6201 or 258 8806 or fax: (65) 356 9531
Yours sincerely,
Wong Souk Yee (Ms)
Editor, Filmworks.com.sg
