Xuihtecuhtli

Xuihtecuhtli was the god of fire and the earthly representative of Ometecuhtli. He was present in the hearth of every home. Also, every 52 years, at a "new years" ceremony of sorts, Xuihtecuhtli was appeased by snuffing out all fires and lighting one in the chest of a sacrifice to keep the world from ending.

In pictures, he is depicted with a headdress which symbolizes fire, and a hollowed out head is common in statues of him, so that a fire could be started in his head.
