My life has been a wonderful journey. I know what has been and is now important to me and what hasn't been nor ever will be. I will try to hit just the highlights for you and hope they are of some interest.
I have done the marriage and divorce routine as many in my age group have. My greatest joy has been and always will be my daughters, Annette and Monica. Both are adults now (yes,we made it throught those teenage years!). They are wonderful people to know!
I've experienced many different careers: cosmetoligist, commissioned artist, police officer, industrial commercial property manager and landscape designer. I taught second and third grade art as a volunteer for two years. I graduated from college, with honors, in May of 1996. My degree: 'Environmental Horticulture' with a minor in 'Administration of Justice'. I worked for Home Depot for 7 months. Started in 'outside garden', went to 'inside garden' and then went to the computer room. I had an absolute blast. The people I worked with in all those departments were warm, kind, humorous, loving individuals. I'm presently back to being full time self-employed with the industrial park.
Hobbies!
In November of '96 I was introduced to the internet and a program called MIRC. It broadened my views on life. I experienced some good, some bad and realized that there is a whole world out there full of adventure. I've gotten to know many people and have met 29 in person, some I've kept as friends and some were discarded. These meetings have taken me to NZ and all over the USA. I've learned a lot, but mostly: don't discard your family in the process. I love gardening, watercoloring, fishing, camping, construction projects and a list of others.
It looks like life has again changed direction with my mother dying in mid October. After 4 months (phase 1) of major remodeling, the home my dad built 33 years ago is now my new home, I'm working through some old issues and healing. Her family and friends will miss her.
The latest and greatest news is that I'm a grandma! Alina was born October 16. She is a beautiful baby girl. Alina weighed 7 pounds/ 4 ounces and is 20" long. She also has a full head of dark brown hair! I was blessed with being able to watch this birth and there is nothing like it. Life takes and replaces life, its amazing.
I'm at it again with phase 2 of the construction. View the phase2 page to see what I've been up to since March, 2000.
I wonder what the year 2001 will bring! Stay tuned.
