Caitlin Fairchild is the daughter of Alex Fairchild, one of the soldiers subjected to experiments by the US government. Alex's generation of super humans had the same powers of telepathy and telekinesis. Their children, generation thirteen, were born with a huge variety of powers. Seeking to build a superhuman army, the government hunted down the Gen-13 children. Caitlin was a brilliant but lonely computer science student studying at Princeton when she was recruited.

Fairchild manifested her powers after discovering the project was not as innocent as it seemed and deciding to escape. Before she was abducted into the Gen 13 program, Caitlin was a small underdeveloped girl-child.  Once her powers bloomed, Caitlin grew to Amazon proportions. As her friends watched, she grew to an over 6 foot, super-strong, super-agile and very intelligent woman.

Five abductees were able to escape with the help of John Lynch. By tearing a hole in a metal wall with her bare hands, subduing numerous guards simply and quickly and freeing herself and her friends from their captors, Fairchild began to realize the true nature of the Genesis enhancement.

After their escape, Fairchild ended up becoming the leader of Gen13. Her intelligence and (mostly) reasonable attitude made her a natural at the job. Fairchild is a born leader who can be naive at times. As she comes to accept her powers and place in life, she becomes a better leader.

Recently, Caitlin discovered she and fellow teammate Roxanne Spaulding are half-sisters, both being the daughters of Alex Fairchild. As Roxy has a grudge against Caitlin for monopolizing her wanna-be boyfriend Grunge's attentions, this revelation has made their relationship strained. Also, Caitlin has also developed a psionic bond with her teammates, and it is especially strong with her half-sibling.

Powers:
Before she was abducted into the Gen 13 program, Caitlin was a small underdeveloped girl-child. Once her powers bloomed, Caitlin grew to Amazon proportions. She is a natural leader whose inner beauty is matched by her outward beauty. Caitlin's power is super human strength (100+ tons) and invulnerability (think Superman, with the bullet bouncing, etc). She is perfectly capable of lifting an entire train, even a building, as easy as a large sack of flour. Caitlin's reflexes were enhanced as well, so not only is she strong, she has the agility of a cat--albeit a very large cat. According to Threshold, all the kids of Gen13 have the potential of being telepathic and telekinetic, however powers are yet to be shown in Caitlin.

Come up to meet ya, tell you I'm sorry
You don't know how lovely you are
I had to find you, tell you I need ya
And tell you I set you apart
Tell me your secrets, and ask me your questions
Oh lets go back to the start
Running in circles, coming up tails
Heads are a science apart
Nobody said it was easy
It's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard
Oh take me back to the start

I was just guessing at numbers and figures
Pulling the puzzles apart
Questions of science, science and progress
Do not speak as loud as my heart
And tell me you love me, come back and haunt me
Oh and I rush to the start
Running in circles, chasing tails

Coming back as we are
Nobody said it was easy
Oh it's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be so hard
I'm going back to the start
