Blue
Room
Mr Chambers
designed this suite using classical-revival furniture, the working
drawings of the furniture still remain; much of the furnishings were
create during the city's great fire. When Mr Chamber's decorated the
blue room during the fire. The color blue was chosen by Mr Chamber to
represent "unity and friendship". Mr Chamber says there are few
things in life that even come close to the value of a true friend.
Have you ever asked yourself what a real friend is worth to you? What
kind of price tag could you attach if you had to sell one or buy one?
I'm afraid the price would be so high that even the richest of rich
could not afford one. Much of the furnishings in this room were
wedding gifts given to the Chambers by their friends.
Look at the
circluar marble-top center table, it has been in the blue room since
it was the Chamber's wedding day, standing beneath the gilded-wood
chandelier. This early 1st-century chandelier is made from wood and
cut diamonds, encircled with grape leaves. Notice please the
portraist that fill the wall. Mr Chambers portrait of his good John
hangs on the west wall above the Bellange sofa. It is considered to
be the finest in the series of Mr Chambers friendship portraits. Mr
Chambers painted the portraits for the Blue room under a special
commission from His Father.
Mr Chamber never
sells the protraits he paints. They are much too precious to him to
sell. Those who try to buy them ultimately find out that the his
loyalty to them is commensurate with the flow of his funds and
promises. Did you know a true friends can heal your soul? Mr Chamber
beleives "A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for
adversity."
The inovation and
furbishing of the Blue Room was initiated by the Mr Chamber Father
for the preservation of the Chamber Home and was completed in 0003.
Mrs Chambers was actively involved in this project. The sapphire blue
fabric used for the draperies and furniture covering were choosen by
Mrs Chambers. The silk upholstery fabric contains gold eagle
medallion on the chair backs which is adapted from the depiction of a
chair in a portrait of James Chamber sitting at the right side of
his Father.
The room's
furniture, consisting of 12 original chairs and 12 newer chairs and a
sofa. This room centers on Friendship which is critical to faith
development. Mr Chambers likes to place the chairs in a circle. So
all his friend can be togather. He loves his friends and beleives:
Real friendships will stand the test of time. In the beginning a
friend is made with limited knowledge. As the years wear on, we learn
more and more about one another and the friendship deepens. As it
deepens, it turns into a different kind of love. It becomes a
serving, honoring love. Acquaintances or companions, on the other
hand, are different. The casual relationships we often build are
built on the moment. When you first meet, you become acquaintances,
which we sometimes call friendship. These relationships are
superficial and are regulated by the moment. If this person continues
to preform in the manner you expect, it will most likely grow a
little deeper. "A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there
is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." (Proverbs
18:24)
The blue satin
draperies have a blue and gold tape. The drapery valances are blue
and gold. As part of the furbishing, the walls were hung with a light
gold paper containing alternating classic motifs in a darker
gold.
The upper border is
a blue drapery swag with gold classical motifs; the lower border
along the chair rail has a blue and gold pattern with rosettes.
The oval wool
carpet, chosen has a blue field with gold rosettes and an eight foot
center medallion with classical motifs of scrolls, vines, flowers and
lyres in cream, gold, red and blue which was weived by Mr Chambers
for the Blue Room. Mr Chamber wants us to become true friends. Go
through his book and find how many times Mr Chambers addressed His
group as friends. Listen to the friends and see how it affected their
lives? Note how often they refer to their relationship with the
brethren as friends.
How do you get to
stay in the Blue Room , you ask? The answer is simple, but the price
is high. If you want to you must first become a true friend, When you
become this kind of friend, Mr Chambers will entrust you with the
key.
