24th February 96 : 56006 "Ferrybridge C Power Station" at Peterborough.
One of the relatively short-lived freight liveries is seen here adorning 56006.
3rd August 91 : Romanian built 56008 at Banbury.
The first 30 Class 56's were built in Romania and shipped to the UK in 1976 and 1977. This 1991 shot shows one of the early examples, still
in "original" condition. Note also that Banbury at this time still had GW lower quadrant signals.
21st October 95 : 56040 on railtour duty at Cwmbargoed Colliery.
Transrail liveried 56040 "Oystermouth" is seen at Cwmbargoed Colliery with HRT's "The Faulty Tower" tour.
3rd August 91 : 56054 in coal sub-sector freight livery.
Many Class 56's were repainted into two-tone grey and had sub-sector markings applied. The black diamonds on a yellow background
represent the coal sub-sector.
October 1989 : 56059 at Peterborough in "large-logo grey" livery.
Another contender for "most boring livery"?
24th March 84 : 56063 on a quiet day at Bedford.
Another "grid" in near-original colour is this example at Bedford.
25th October 83 : 56106 waits the road at Doncaster on an MGR train.
The last 50 or 60 of the class were outshopped in large-logo livery as seen here. At this time in 1983, 56125 was about the newest
example out and about.
